Summer Sewing Progress

June 02, 2021 by Grace Lombardo in Stitch along

I’m stitching a little ahead for the #100daysummersewalong because I know I won’t be able to stitch everyday. I’m not sure if I’m getting any better at needleturn applique, but I feel more confident.

I’m using up my Uppercase Circular Logic fabric stash and adding a few odd pieces of scrap fabric from my general stash. The background fabrics are all remnants of various quilt backing fabrics that I knew (ha, ha) would come in handy someday. This is a excellent project for me to use up my fabrics. The only purchase I had to make thus far is another spool of black Sulky 12 wt. thread for the embroidery. This has made my husband and my pocketbook very happy.

It’s not too late to join in if you are looking for motivation to do some hand sewing this summer. https://sewfine.ca/blogs/news/sew-along-inspiration

Happy Stitching Everyone!

Summer Sewing

May 19, 2021 by Grace Lombardo

I’m getting ready for the #100daysummersewalong sponsored by Jenn from Sew Fine Thread Gloss (my favorited is Satsuma). There is no set project for the 100 days, just some sort of stitching. I’m combining embroidery with my needle turn applique. I figure by the 100th day I’ll be pretty good at needle turn, or at least needle turn butterflies.

If you want to join in you will need to follow #100daysummersewalong on Instagram. There will be prizes! You will also need to sign up for email updates from Jenn at https://sewfine.ca/blogs/news/100-day-summer-sew-along . It starts on June 1, 2021.

Happy Stitching!
